Purpose
To Cultivate Community, Culture and Connection Through Music
DJ Mal has developed a versatile style that taps into his love for Hip-Hop, Classic and Alternative R&B, House, Funk and Soul. Driven by his desire to cultivate community through his talents, we developed the brand identity for DJ Mal and created a cohesive brand known as Sounds By Mal.
Since the development of his brand identity, DJ Mal has produced several curated events for the Philadelphia community including CurrentMood—a casual social gathering of music lovers paying homage to artists that inspire music and culture of yesterday and today, and BlackList—an intimate, exclusive nightlife experience centered around creating a community of professionals and tastemakers. He has also been featured in multiple high profile cultural events including the Smithsonian's Portrait of a Nation Gala in Washington, D.C.
